Look Who completed toddler Daycare!!

My little peanut is all grown up! Out of 3 year old daycare care and now running with the big league! I am so proud of him. He has gone through so  much this year and I feel I was one of the lucky ones to have such a good daycare help contribute to molding such a perfect little boy. well..I feel perfect.
As you can see... Graduation from Daycare is as tiring as highschool and college.
The class of 2009 Future scholars daycare, North Vancouver BC.
That's right Rocco was the only one to finish today! and I am DARN proud of him!

Happiness is WHIP CREAM!

Nothing like a little whip cream to put a smile on ones face! I know it is not the real deal.. but it is delicious stuff! And always a can is available in our fridge for times like these. Rocco now likes a ice cream cone filled with this stuff.
Come over and join us for some whip topping fun!

lets go!

I dont think in the last 33 months of my life never once have I ever made ONE1 trip to the car in the morning..or any other time for that matter. What is it with kids that I need to go back and forwards no less than 3 times because I forgot something, or Rocco wants something as soon as I get into the car or I dont have enough arms for everything. My neighbours must think I am a wack job. I even have driven half way down the block only to have to turn around to go back to my house.

point proven..homemade is best-est

So I found this GREAT outfit for Rocco of his now favorite superhero (Spiderman is so yesterday) BATMAN, I decided to wander over to ToysRus while waiting for my mom to come out of her facial we had done together but timing had it I finished first..so what better way to wait then shop.. and there it was shining away at me..The belt Rocco always asks me for.. Batman's belt..BUT, not only this, there was the mask, a cape ANNNNND the batarangs (throwing stars but nicer and softer) included. I thought.. what a GREAT gift to get Rocco for his birthday..in August I convinced myself (and my mom later. Yes. I will just tuck it away till then...cha-CHING. YA RIGHT..I received Rocco sunday night from his dads and right in he walked and.. I gave him his birthday present..There is REALLY something so much more exciting about spending money on my son then buying things for myself these days. The smiles and jumping up and down and hugs and thank you were worth the $30 bucks I spent on the REAL batman outfit. Rocco ran around and we played batman for a full 2 hours..oh what FUN! The next day we go out together for mommy Rocco day, and I assumed he would want his flashy new Batman outfit to show off at the children's festival.. Newp..He decided today..like many other days, he would like to wear the 'batman cape' Yaya made him. sigh. I thought I would post this one for Yaya..since she made it for Rocco and since Yaya always says Homemade is always best! AND Rocco..and I would agree!! sidenote: this was all not a waste of money. Rocco did in fact wear his batman mask out with the cape..this picture just does now show this.

Spot Prawn season has arrived

I am a HUGE fan of the sweet and delicious spot prawn. It is now GAME ON for the prawn boats to go out and collect the delicious little morsels found in our B.C. waters. I am going to go down to the boats this weekend and collect me a big bag full right off the boats! I thought I would share a recipe with you I found on line. I will let you know how the recipes works. Sautéed B.C. Spot Prawns with Garlic, Jalapenos, Fresh Herbs and a Spicy Mayo Rob Feenie WHAT YOU NEED: 3-4 pounds live prawns 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil 1 tablespoon butter 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced 2 red jalapeno peppers, thinly sliced ¼ cup flat leaf parsley 1 cup dry white wine 1 whole lemon Freshly cracked black pepper WHAT YOU DO: n a 12-14 inch sauté pan, on medium heat add olive oil, butter and garlic, lightly sauté. Turn heat up, add prawns and jalapenos. Toss for 1-2 minutes. Turn heat back to medium, add white wine, and cook for another minute. Add parsley, juice of lemon and finish freshly cracked black pepper, serve immediately in a large bowl. Spicy Mayo WHAT YOU NEED: 1 cup of mayo 1 tablespoon of Sambal Oelek WHAT YOU DO: Mix and season with salt and pepper. who wears short shorts!

I need to get my summer sexyback legs in full strength. The only way to do this is by walk walk walkin everywhere. One of the reasons I need to live close to everything. I LOVE to walk..as long as I can walk somewhere. I thought I would post a picture of last years summer legs in my favorite shorts.. to give me incentive to get back that place..and back into these darn shorts..properly. Every year I get older..it gets harder and harder. sigh.

I love you very much Rocco

I wasnt going to post next about Rocco. My mother is giving me writers block claiming that all I write about is my kid. ..But I dunno, since this blog is for him to look back and then what else SHOULD I write about here?!?!?
anyways.. I will start reblogging and it will be about Rocco.
Rocco came into my bath tonite, handed me soap, and said Mommy.. I love you very much. Not I love you..but I love you very much. he then left and came back in with his big red chair, a step stool (for a table) and his burger from dinner. and said he wanted to eat and watch me in the bath because he loved me very much again.
SO much for a soaking tub for my sore foot and neck in peace..BUT it was a nice bath either way.
I spent a amazing FULL weekend with Rocco for mothers day. we went plant shopping with Yaya saturday then spent all mothers day in the sunshine planting our goodies. enough herbs and tomatoes to make many great pizzas this summer on the BBQ!
HERE are a few pictures of Rocco playing in the dirt. and here is a picture of my penne necklace Rocco gave me for mothers day.
I love gardening with Rocco. we learn from the best mom out there..MY MOM!
Happy mother's day mom..and to the other mommies we know!

today I start to Blog again

I apologize to the 3three people who follow me..I have not been posting.
Being a full time mommy and worker I find it hard to find the time. Nevermind the inspiration. I think perhaps I am influenced too much by others on what to write about then get writers block. I have great things that happen and are said to me everyday. even the little things...
I will start to blog again..tomorrow

I smell a skunk

Here is Rocco finding other useful ways to use his potty seat.
Rocco doesn't like his diaper changed anymore. So he thinks that one way he can get around me smelling that oh so yucky diaper smell is by letting me know that 'he smells a skunk'
Maybe this way Mommy won't change the diaper.
I can hear Rocco right now in his room telling me 'he smells a skunk'
and yup...I smell a skunk now too
sigh.
